Question Do you take the price tags off gifts that you give?

For the most part, I remove the tags. I never do with my husband's gifts. He doesn't even look at the price. I never did with my parent's gifts either. It made it easier to return them, if need be.

I give a lot of calendars out as extra gifts. I get them in the Hallmark Store...the pretty Thomas Kinkade ones that cost $17.99. The price is printed right on the back of the calendar. I don't bother to use a marker to scratch off the price.

If I'm real close to a person, I don't bother. I bought my nieces some matching Barbie pajamas and slippers from Macy's, and left the tags on. Their mother knows what these things cost anyway.

Not really, since mostly I'm just giving to family and I don't care if they know or not. If the tag is easy to remove, I'm more inclined.

I take the sale price off and leave the original price on.

ALWAYS!! I don't want anyone finding out how cheap I really am.

But yeah, the only thing I don't take the prices off of are cards, because I don't want to ruin a nice card by scribbling on it.

Always. I think it's kind of tacky if it's left on because it's about the gift, not the price.

Mosty, I take off the price. Unless it's not a sticker, then I just leave it because it looks worse with a big scribble on it.

Now-a-days, I only shop for my wife, so she basically knows how much I spend on her because she gives me an allowance. lol I am the bread winner, and I get the allowance. lol

Yeah. If it's printed right on the gift, I won't scratch it out, but I always tear/peel off the price tag. My mom doesnt and the first thing my dad does when he opens a gift from her is say, "OHHH $10.99!" or whatever.

I always do if possible. Otherwise, I cover it neatly somehow...I don't like the smear, so sometimes I just glue something over it.. Sometimes it just depends on whom the gift is for....if it's just something small, sometimes I don't really care I guess.

I don't get offended or anything when the price is still on when someone gives me something....I figure if they were kind enough to get me a gift, that's all that really matters

Yes, I always do. Or at least cross out the price if I can't remove the tag. My dad did ask me how much I paid for the gifts I bought him because he loves to hear about "super deals". Luckily I could tell him because I did get his gifts for good deals and I didn't mind telling!

with family, no; i get them the same things every year anyway (cd's for my brother and a calendar for my dad). i got a $50 cd set for a really good friend this year and i made sure to take the price tag off of that....he's really hard on himself about how good he is to me in the first place and i didn't want him stressing about how much more i spent on him than he did on me, because i'm sure he would.
