I was wondering how how come rank always picked on arkeye and Trapper

Probably because Hawkeye and Trapper (and later BJ) weren't very nice to him.

Yup. I would add that he was probably intimidated by their better looks and better doctoring skills....but most of his "meanness" probably was defensive. Poor old Ferret Face.

Simply put: Frank was a weasel. He had absolutely no redeeming social value whatsoever. He was a huge hypocrite as well.

He seemed like he was more interested in making himself look good and others look bad than making friends, especially if they didn't do everything "by the book".
