That new TV special TV Land is running starting in January is exploring (from the description on the schedule) various aspects of TV and one of the topics being addressed is Gilligan's Island being a metaphor for hell! I really never thought about GI in this way but it does seem rather profound when you think about it. Could all of their various attempts to get off the island been symbolic of all of the horrors of hell and trying to escape? It's actually quite scary to me whenever I think about it.

Should be an interesting segment. I have seen it compared to the 7 Deadly Sins, but never directly Hell. I hope Sherwood Schwartz is in it. He has been in a lot of TV Land Specials recently. Dawn Wells was on a Top Ten episode so maybe she will be on it too.

...that "LOST" is also considered a "Metaphor for Hell" (and not as much fun), I'm not surprised.

What a horrible thought, could this mean they all drowned in the storm?
