Default Good news and bad news, maybe

I've got a situation and this is just a flyer to see if it's worth following up on.

I collected perhaps 1000 vhs tapes of various tv series and shows from the early 80's through the mid 90's. Then I got very busy at work, retired, and moved and in that process I've lost my catalog records (I think). I know they were on those big 5 1/4 inch floppys and I've found some of those, but can't read them now. Most of the shows were recorded in the 6 hour speed (I know it's not the best, but it was what I could afford at the time). And most tapes are labeled as to the series name. They have been stored in boxes in my garage since we moved here in dec 1995.

I don't have the "know how, software, or equipment" to transfer them to dvd, but if someone thinks it is worth while, I'll break them out and ship them to whoever wants them (no cost, I would like to help out in this small way). I don't know what condition they are in since I haven't looked at them since we moved.

Is it worth it, or should I just junk them.

I'll be leaving to go to the LA area for the Christmas holiday, but returning before New Years. LMK your thoughts please.

OK, I've gotten quite a few e-mails and PM's on this. Since we are preparing to leave for the holidays, I'll get back to each of you upon our return,

.

toebig, I'm one of those eccentrics that still has a 5.25 drive in my computer, and I'd be happy to copy your floppys to a CD for you if you like.

Default 5.25 floppy

Hi Funnybook

Thanks for the reply. Now all I have to do is find them. I have found som w of them but they say garden records, temp, etc. Nothing that says TV shows although there may be some records on the disc marked temp. If I do locate them I'll send you a PM.

Thanks for the offer I really do appreciate it.
