Default The Return of Bob in 1980 BLEW MY MIND-lol BOB was not the Same, AT ALL

Bob returned in the ep-"Girl with a Past" in 3/2/80 and I couldn't even believe this was the same guy who slept in the Bed with Barbara. He was no longer a GEEK, no more Pimples, and lost Weight. And to top it all off, Bob shows up with Girl just as HOT as Barbara, the Girl he once had a crush on. I was amazed at how different he looked

Did he show up to brush Barbara off , like he was saying "Look what I did?" I guess he had no more Mickey Mouse shirts too?

First of all, I'm reviving this old thread because I just finished watching this episode on my DVR, and I didn't see any recent discussion about it or I must have missed a discussion about it. I searched for a thread but all I found was this one.
Anyway, besides the fact that Bob cleaned up nicely, the girl that Bob is dating (The Girl with a past) looked familiar to me, so I did a search, and found out her name is Amy Gibson. Her TV credits also include The Facts of Life. Here is a link to her recent appearance on a news channel where she talks about her struggle with hair loss. I found her to be very well-spoken and courageous.

3 more appearances left for Bob, two in season 7, one in season 8, when he shows up married NOT to Claudia.

Of things I've seen, I also noticed she was in Happy Days and the movie Airplane, but I can't picture her part in either one.

Yeah!!! Claudia Faraday AKA All the way Faraday!!!! I was going to look for an old thread on this too, or start a new one !IDK? Didn't we all discuss this a few months ago when it aired? I think it would have been an ep. we would have discussed!

She was pretty, but she was the school tramp and Barbara was trying to step in so Bob wouldn't get hurt ! Turned out he did know and it was OK with him!! What a nice guy!!! LOL Funny we only heard about the slut "Trish the dish" and never about "All the way Faraday" before!

But keep in mind, Bob didn't end up with her after all! Unless they got divorced? Remember he married that girl who had airsickness and he came onto Barbara as his new bride was resting in the bedroom and when Barbara was already married to Mark? LOL Bob sure does like to flaunt his new women to Barbara doesn't he!!!!

Bob was played by John Putch, who popped up in a few movies in the 80s. He played Dennis Quaid's brother in Jaws 3D, he was in the John Cusack comedy The Sure Thing. And I thought he was really good in the lesser known late 80s horror flick Curfew.
He seems to have retired from acting, and has now been producing and directing movies.

John is the son of Jean Stapleton and I'm constantly looking at him and listening to his voice to see hints of her in him. I can sometimes see a bit of her in him.
