Default Ok Watching the ep-Julie's Wedding Part 1 Now and Mackenzie looks BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Received lots of CBS eps of One Day at a Time Today in the Mail and watching the Julie's Wedding Episode and she s hard to look at. They should have did this storyline for Barabara instead. Damm she looked Horrible. This was the Start of the 1979-80 Season

That was probably when she was at her worst. I watched it when it originally aired and I never noticed anything. I didn't know anything was even wrong with Mack until after she was fired. lol

Ridiculous, but sooooo Julie.

I wonder how the actor felt abt playing Mackenzie's husband? I bet he wishes he was marrying Barbara instead.

Mackenzie's Bad Look made the Julie character look 14 Years older than Barbara. She looked more like her AUNT instead of her Sister. Her and Ann looked like SISTERS instead-lol

I haven't seen that show in quite awhile. I'd probably notice it now since I'd be looking for it. Back then all I cared about was Barbara anyway. lol

That was when her cocaine and alcohol addiction went full tilt. It was beginning to surface when she got arrested at the tail end of the 77-78 season and it was slowly beginning during the 78-79 season. At the end of the 78-79 season you can see that she was getting strung out. But when the 79-80 begun it was so out of control that her clothes had to be padded and one of the producers stated that they could even stand to do a close up shot of her that was how bad she looked. At the time of her first firing she looked as old as Bonnie Franklin. When the show started she looked slightly older than Bonnie. It was due to the rough life Mackenzie had. It was too bad what happened because in the long run it hurt the show because One Day at A Time was never the same without her. You feel the void when she was first written out during the 79-80 season and the beginning of the 80-81 season. The show had something missing and it was the conflict between Julie and Ann. Julie's storylines made the show move in a powerful way especially when she ran away from home, dealing with lack of direction in life, religious zeal and her almost marrying a guy nearly her dad's age.

Yup, I had said that she was looking like Barbara's Aunt and Ann's Sister in the ep-:Julie's Wedding"-lol

Julie/Mack was the best on the show. I really think the show was dull when she wasn't involved with it. Despite Valerie being the better looking one, Julie's antics ruled the show.

Here's the picture from the episode of Julie's wedding. You can see the downward spiral in her face and her hair.
