Question How are your work/school celebrating the Holidays?

I don't work, but I've been to more work holiday parties than I can remember. The last place I worked held a lavish banquet at the Hilton at Logan.

How have you or how will you celebrate the holidays with your co-workers or fellow students?

We had a "Winter Celebration" at a casino just out of town earlier this month. Don't get me wrong; I had a blast. I just didn't like the fact that there was zero holiday sentiment.

We had no official party at work. (Too cheap I guess) The Writers Guild has a party coming up this week, but I'll be at work. lol

It's getting so PC out there, that it's pretty sad. My brother works for Trader Joes. They distance themselves so far from Chris...I mean the holida....

They're so nuts that they throw a generic party for the employees in October, and they get their bonuses in February.

We had our annual Christmas party at work last Thursday, the 14th. We had a potluck, Christmas music, and we all brought a gift under $5 for the gift exchange game. I wrapped up a picture frame, and I ended up taking him some packaged "Moose Munch" (chocolate- and glaze-covered popcorn and cashews). Well, I actually took home an angel decoration and a tiny snowman cookie jar, but I traded them for the Moose Munch from a co-worker friend. I wasn't crazy about the decorations, and the Moose Munch was delicious! I already ate it all!

we don't have parties, however, yearbook sells "Santa Grams". Basicly, for 50 cents, you can buy a card and a sucker for someone.

Yeah, it's a big deal.

The office staff, yard supervisors, secretarial, clerical and administration provided goodies--cookies, cake and so forth all day today, with Christmas music in the background. We could come in anytime, like on our break--and snack. They do this every year.

Wednesday morning at 7:15 we have a staff Christmas breakfast and gift exchange. There's Christmas music, candles and beautiful atmosphere.

There's a tree and lights in the lunch hallway and a banner for all the Jews out thur, though there are very few here

We also have candy grams where you send a candy cane with a note to the person's homeroom. I don't ever get one so to hell with those. We might get a party or two in some classes, or watch movies and eat food. Don't do much on the day before break. It's like Jesus comes to all the teaches and goes "And unto you I say do not teach the children for I am Good and school is bad."

There was a staff Christmas party last Friday. I didn't go, 1 because I was sick, and 2 because I don't like most of the people I work with.

All the associates are having food on Wednesday and not telling anyone else.

Yeah that pretty much sounds like our last day before break. It's fun and such an easy day.

At my school, grades 7-12 aren't allowed to have parties, so we never do anything for Christmas. We did have a (secret) Christmas gathering in journalism the other day though.

your school is a lot better then mine. we dont decorate cause we're too PC, teachers give us tests the week before break because they suck (i freaking have a test on friday...) and we can't sell candy grams anymore because they just banned candy in school. USUALLY we do nothing the week before break, but its probably gonna be different this year. i have a feeling friday will be easy besides the test, though.

i love our school. [/sarcastic]

The current company I work for. does not do anything for Christmas. But the video store i used to work for does one every year, and even though i quit 2 years ago I'm still great friends with my old boss and they had one on Saturday that I was invited too. Was great seeing my old friends again.
