Default Flip's drinking problem

Remember the episode of Happy Days when Flip Phillips was hanging out with these two losers, Kelly and Mark, and drinking? When he and those two losers walked into Arnold's, K.C., Jenny and the gang were discussing an upcoming carnival and Fonzie losing his barber, Rudy. K.C. was the first to find out her cousin has been drinking as she could smell alcohol in his breath. Roger walks in and also smells the alcohol in his little brother's breath and tells Flip he doesn't want him hanging out with Kelly and Mark, but Flip rebels. Roger reports to his aunt and uncle just when Fonzie is still interviewing barbers to succeed his late barber, Rudy. Howard and Marion tell Roger he's really trying too hard to get through to Flip and needs to change his approach. They also tell Roger they've spoken to his cousins, Richie and Joanie about the same situations and conclude Flip has to make his own decisions. Roger begins to change his approach, but to very little avail, at least for now. Flip once again leaves with the losers, Kelly and Mark, on a drunken joy ride. Jenny wants to go hang out with the three, but K.C. says no go, and they stay at Arnold's. Fonzie his about to get a haircut, courtesy of Ashley, but he's a little hesitant about her cutting his hair. Meanwhile, Tammy and Heather are about to go bike riding. A short time later, a speeding car hits Heather and drives off. Tammy tells Fonzie about the car that hit Heather, just as he and Ashley are about to take her to the hospital. Flip feels guilty about being involved in the drunk driving hit and run incident. Kelly and Mark attempt to make up a lie to cover up the incident, and when they try to stop Flip from going to the police, a very angry and irate Arthur Fonzarelli walks into Arnold's, demanding answers about the incident. Mark incriminates himself in front of Fonzie, and he takes a bench and clutches him and Kelly against the counter. Flip admits his role in the hit and run. Fonzie strikes fear into the two losers when he breaks the bench in two and gives them 5 minutes to turn themselves in to Milwaukee Police and tell them what they need to know about the hit and run. Fonzie subdues Flip and confronts him about about the hit and run. Afterwards, Flip shows up at Ashley's house with a present for Heather, trying to make up for his role in the hit and run on her. Today, this kind of thing still goes on in society, but at least it was addressed in this episode of Happy Days. My guess is, after Fonzie confronted Flip about the hit and run, he got a tongue-lashing from the police as they booked Kelly and Mark for drunk driving and vehicular assault. I believe he also got a court appearance ticket and possibly a chewing out from his Aunt Marion at the police station. Now, what do you think should've happened to Flip after Fonzie confronted him about the drunk driving and the hit and run on Heather? Please chime in with your thoughts!

I really thought it was a great episode the first time I saw it, but by the second time I thought it was very corny.

I never understood why his parents would let him leave to live with his brother. I know I wouldn't want to live with my sister.

I taped that very episode-the only way to recap is to watch again.

Not that I cared at the time I first saw it, but I thought Flip got off too easy! He should have been banished from the show. Oh wait, he was!
