Wink What are your jobs/professions?

I'm sure this thread was launched before, but here goes. I'm a bilingual ESOL English teacher, translator, interpreter/Cambridge PET/KET/BCE/FCE examiner. I've been at it for over 20 odd years and have been working in Italy-UK-Belgium for so long it's not funny anymore! I love my job and wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world. I work loooong hours esp at my notebook (for online translations, etc.), BUT the $$$ is extremely good!! Mind you, it wasn't always like that. I've cleaned out public toilets, lakes, worked in numerous factories, done heaps of shift work, worked the boats, etc, etc, etc. before this but know I feel really accomplished. And you?

I'm a teacher's aide. I work with special needs kids in the classroom. The pay is lousy but the emotional reward is the best

Well, right now I am working at a grocery store part-time, but most of my energy is spent at college. I'm majoring in English right now, and hope to become a writer

I'm a professional loser.

Ahhh, nothing like self depricating humor.

Currently, I teach eighth grade English. I am also a credentialed Spanish teacher and have taught it for many years. I have been teaching in the same school for 17 years and in the same district for 25 years. Although I do like my job--great colleagues and staff, and for the most part enjoy working with students, I have often wondered about working in journalism, advertising copywriting, or voiceover work. It might be something I'd like to try as an avocation when I retire. I also coach track. Next spring will be my fifth year doing that. I'm a content person basically, but there's always that 'spark' that beckons me to other pursuits and goals.

I work for a small construction company that specializes in welding and ironwork.

I am a laborer. The day is long, I have to lift heavy crap, and the pay isn't great.

On the positive side, i hate it.
