Default How long do you give a song to grab your attention?

I usually give a song 45 seconds to a minute. There has been times when I know after 5 seconds that I'm not going to like it-lol

My Newest Song that ad grabbed my attention after 33 seconds is by Xsacpe-"To the Arms of the One who loves You"

I can't say because there are some damn good songs that if I based it on the first minute or 30 seconds, I would have missed out on a good song. I have to really listen to a song. There are so many songs that may have a boring beginning or a not so good beginning but then it grabs your attention. Then, there are songs that may have a beginning that sounds like a slow song and then BOOM turn into a bumpin' jam.

Way back when it used to take me next to nothing to dig a song, nowadays, everything's more complicated and it depends....40 secs to 1 min.!

It varies, but on the average about 20 seconds.

I knew you would turn this into a I HATE ISLEY BROTHERS tirade.

"I was LIVING IN THE LIFE"...A damn good jam by the Isley Brothers. My fave song by them.

If it's "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt, I just have to hear the opening notes to come down sick.

I usually wait until the chorus. If the song doesn't grab me by then, then it's pretty unlikely that it ever will. Sometimes though, if a song is really atrocious, it'll only take me a couple seconds to change it.

As long as I've been listening to music on the radio, there are lots of songs I recognize after the first note or two.
