Pert Kelton question. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Just out of curiosity how many Honeymooner Sketches did Pert Kelton play Alice in? I know a few of them since I remember reading about first appearances & such but I'm not sure if I remember all the Pert Kelton ones:

Bread (10/5/1951) Art played a police officer; Razor Blades (10/12/1951); New Television Set (11/2/1951) Ed & Trixie's 1st appearance; Ralph Threatens to Leave (11/16/1951); Ring Salesman (12/7/1951) Joyce Randolph’s 1st appearance; Quiz Show (12/14/1951); Christmas Party (12/21/1951).

Was that all she was in or where there more that I missed?

That's all the sketches from the Cavalcade of Stars (that we know of at least). There might have been more, but it's hard to tell because DuMont destroyed a lot of their kinescopes. Besides those 7, Jackie, Art and Pert did two Honeymooners sketches on the Ed Sullivan Show right before Jackie moved to CBS and Pert was replaced by Audrey. The first one was done on 3/30/52 and was a remake of the "Ring Salesman" episode and the second one was done on 5/4/52, in which Ralph & Alice are dressing for a dance.

In one of the episodes about the "Ring Salesman", Pert blows her line and calls the ring salesman "Ralph" instead of "Joe". The only difference in the two shows is that in one, Alice is getting Ralph a ring for his birthday (how gay!

) and in the other, it's for Christmas, if I remember correctly.

Haha, yeah I remember her mixing up the names, I'm pretty sure it was in the Ed Sullivan version. It's weird how Jackie decided to do "Ring Salesman" and "Quiz Show" over and then do a remake of "Christmas Party" in 1952 AND 1953. He must've really liked those scripts. Another thing I noticed about the "Really Lost" sketches is that you can see the shadow of the overhead microphone on the wall, it's funny when you see it move back and forth while a character is walking around.
