Default Episodes that set examples of the dangers of New York City

Many AITF episodes have set an example of how New York is a very dangerous city. Here are a couple of those episodes:

Archie Is Branded(where a swastika is painted on the front door)

Edith's 50th Birthday(Edith is almost raped)

Gloria The Victim(Gloria is nearly raped)

The Editorial(Archie does a speech about guns on TV,and is then robbed at gunpoint at Kelsey's)

Super Bowl Sunday(superbowl at Archie's Place is disrupted at gunpoint by two robbers)

Edith's Crises Of Faith(where Beverly LaSalle is murdered)

A Small Mafia Favour(ABP episode where a man is shot to death by two Mafia members right in the bar)

How about Episode #057 - Archie Is Branded
The Bunker household goes into a frenzy when a swastika is found on their front door. At first Archie puts the blame for the painted symbol on the kids, but Mike fears it is much more than just a childish prank.

wasn't there also an episode where Archie and Mike see a guy mugged, and Archie refuses to go to the police and just wants to forget the whole thing?

And don't forget the one where Archie gets robbed in his cab.

And there's also the episode where the 2 guys rob the Bunker household and then hideout with the Bunkers until the cops clear. Edith wins them over when she sings them her jingle.

I hate to tell you but number #1: It was just a show & those were just made up story lines. Sure back in the 1970's New York as any city had it's fair amount of crime but even the average person living in Queens New York during that time could tell you those story lines were over aggregated. #2: New York City today is one of the safest places in the world. The city does not tolerate crime. New York City has more police officers patrolling the streets in car & foot than any other city. Even Los Angeles does not have this. God forbid you are mugged or car jacked in CA., you would have to wait a long time before a police car can make it over to you. In New York if this were to happen, the police would get to you in less than 5 minutes and chances are the criminals would be caught as there is no where to run without every cop spotting you! New York city is so safe & clean that it is also the number 1 tourist attraction. More foreigners including Europeans the most visit New York City than any other place in the world. Archie would love that!

I think back in the 70's & early 80's TV & Movies love to make fun of New York city by portraying it as an unfriendly & very unsafe city. The worst example was the Death Wish movies starring Charles Bronson. These films were so over aggregated that it was so depressing to watch & think New York could be that dangerous. It was and still is Hollywood that makes everything seem what it is really not! Ever since Sept. 11, New York is now 100 times safer but also it showed just how much New Yorkers care about each other and were willing to help in any way they could. Archie would have been proud.
