I havent seen the 'cut over' show(s). How did Aunt Bea end up at Sams and what happened to Andy and Opie.

I believe it was because Andy and Helen had just gotten married, and Bee didn't want to be in the way at their house. Sam needed a housekeeper, and Bee reluctantly agreed to move in with him.

Andy, Opie, and Helen stayed in town, at least for awhile, but weren't seen on-camera (except for some occasional cameos by Andy). Andy and Helen had a son, Andy Jr., during the second season. I don't think Andy appeared at all during the third season.
