Default Mackenzie Phillips starting to look bad

I don't know if it is me, but the last few ODAAT episodes added to Comcast hardly has Julie in them. They show her for like three minutes. It looks like she has been in bed for a week or on a three day bender.

Hopefully all that drug garbage is over now.

Yes they did and I'm glad she overcame that and is living a better life today.

Yeah, check those out. I forget which one it was for sure. I'm certain she isn't even in one of the episodes, but when I saw her she looked gaunt and it looked her hair was sticking out everywhere.

I just read she was fired in 1980 and 1983 because of drugs, but the article stated that she did have a history of coming to work unprepared and being all wasted. Maybe we are seeing one of her early periods of trouble because I think the episodes are still from the late 70's yet on Comcast.

I remember them days reading abt her troubles on the set, being wasted, taping being delayed, her so out of it she wasn't able to recite her lines. I also remember the big hoopla made out of her being fired because of this issue. It was unheard of for a "star" of a tv show to be in such a mess.

It was quite apparent towards the end of the 78-79 season that something was wrong with her and it was showing quite badly in the 79-80 season. The producers had no idea what was going then and they put her on suspension and when she came back all she was cut her hair dressed better. But she was still out of it.

When she returned in the 81-82 season it appeared that she beat and looked better. She put on some weight that made her looked unnatural. In the 82-83 season you can tell she back on it again. In the episode "The Letter" during Season 8 and you can tell she was back on them full fledge. In the 83-84 season she was foregone in them that when the producer asked her to wake up when she passed out on the couch to take a drug urine sample. She asked to wait the following day and it will be OK but the producer said no and she left the show on the spot. Now from what I understand she's been recovery from drugs and alcohol since 1992.

Man, I saw the title to this thread, and I'm thinking, "Did she ever look GOOD?"
