Default Gleason Characters

As we all know, Gleason portrayed six of his most well-known characters in the Honeymooners "Christmas Party" episodes (Ralph Kramden, Fenwick Babbitt, Joe the Bartender, The Poor Soul, Rudy the Repairman & Reggie Van Gleason III), but there were other Gleason characters that didn't appear in those shows. Off the top of my head I can only think of Charlie Bratton (who Gleason mentioned in "Catch A Star") and Rum Dum. Were those the only two that weren't included in those Christmas specials or am I forgetting some?

Well, I don't believe Rum Dum existed then. I think the first time we were introduced to him was on Gleason's short-lived 30 minute Friday night series in 1958. The only other character I can think of was one he tried out on "Cavalcade Of Stars" called The Bachelor. To my knowledge, when he went over to CBS I think he left that character behind, didn't really make the grade.

Yeah I think you're right, I don't think I've ever actually seen a Rum Dum sketch before. As a matter of fact, I think the only reason I know of Rum Dum is because of the picture(s) you posted of him in another thread. I always wondered why Jackie didn't include Charlie Bratton in the "Christmas Party" sketches...I guess he had to change costumes enough times as it was.
