Default Anyone like me and plan to buy their first DVD Recorder in 2007?

The plan was for me to get it in June but things happened but it looks like I will be getting it in Mid-January. Who else on here doesn't have a DVD Recorder Yet?

I bought one about a week before Christmas in 2004. Hard to believe it's been 2 years now. I can't even remember how things worked before. It's just so much better.

Fortunately, I don't have to buy one. My roomate just recently bought one, so I just use hers whenever she's not home.

I already have one. I bought it last January. I may upgrade in 2007 to one that has a hard drive, not sure.

Yea that sucks. The K-Mart here in town still carries them though and if it really comes to it I got hundreds of VHS tapes with movies on it. I can always use a few of them that I don't watch anymore. I'm more concerned with the VCRs then I am the tapes. I just don't see a reason to get one right now. I buy Movie and TV DVDS anyway and as far as taping I use the VCR to tape shows that I erase anyhow.

It's an upgrade because the DVD recorder that I currently have, doesn't have a hard drive.

I looked at a couple that cost roughly $400. They were both Samsung. Philips has one that's $300. That was at Walmart.com

Consumersearch.com I went here to find out which was the best brand to get.

What does a DVD recorder with a hard drive do that a DVD recorder without a hard drive can;t do?

It makes it easier to copy stuff from one dvd to another, for one thing. I could save whatever I want to copy on the hard drive and then put it on another dvd. Also, I could put all my Norman Lear shows I have, on tape and dvd, on the hard drive and then just copy them to a disc.
