A few months ago I read about someone who got a perfect score on his ACT's and his SACT's the same year.

I'm sorry, standardized tests mean nothing to me. They shouldn't be used to apply to a college. Some people are smart, but just don't test well. I did good on my ACTs and horrid on my SATs. Doesn't mean I'm not smart. I have a 3.7, I'm not a moron.

English and Math isn't my thing. I am good at History and Sciences. I got a 1540 the second time I took the test. I went up almost 200 points from the first time I took it so I am not complaining.

And yet for those of us who haven't exactly shown a great degree of success grades-wise for one reason or another (just ask me, I'll give you a LONG rant), standarized tests are the one measure of true intelligence left. It shows that "**** happened during that grading period, but contrary to what that arbitrary sometimes-subjective letter says, I'm actually intelligent and capable"

My cousin got a perfect SAT score when he was a freshman in high school. The school gave him the test to see how he would do. He aced it and ended up being able to take all kinds of college level courses. I guess that is why he is a doctor today!! LOL!!

My ex boyfriend only missed one on the math and one on the reading...he got perfect on the writing. And he took it as a sophomore, even though he skipped a grade. And he ultimately graduated with a 2.1 GPA....having the brains and being motivated to use them all the time are two different things.
