Talking My answers to frequently asked questions!

Here are my answers to frequently asked questions about GT!

1. Did Thelma ever work?

Answer: Yes she did. Thelma worked as a babysitter and at Willona's boutique.

2.Why did Keith slap Thelma?(OPeople who don't watch the whole episode ask this)

Answer: He slapped her because he was drunk and she pointed this out.

3.What happened to Diana in J.J's fiancee?

That question still remains unanswered. Some say she jumped out of the window to commit suicide, but many others(Most people) say she jumped(or climbed) out of the window to get more drugs.

4.What is that confusing line in the end of GT theme song? It sounds like "Hangin and a jiving."

It is, "Hanging in a chow line."

5.Is it possible to be temporarily layed off like in the theme song?

Yes it is. Temporarily layed off just means being fired for a little while.

6.Why does TVLAND air edited episodes? Why are my favorite scenes cut out in TVLAND airings?

TVLAND aires edited episodes because they need more time to air commercials. To see your favorite scenes and to see the episode uneidited, watch TVONE or buy the DVDs of GT seasons 1-6.

7.How did James die?

James was killed in an accident in Missisissippi.

8.How was Penny introduced?

Penny was introduced as a young girl whose birth mother abused her and Willona adopted her.

9.Why did so many actors play the same characters on GT?

Shortage of black actors in the 70's.

10. How would Florida fall in love with an atheist and play the lottery? Aren't these against Christianity?

Different writers wrote the script in the fourth season, comparewd to other seasons. The earlier writers would not allow Florida to do anything that was against Christioanity.

11. Why did the Evans live in the Ghetto?

because they had no money

12. Why didn't Florida want Cousin Raymond's MONEY?

Because he was a Gambler

LOL

Why did Thelma allow Ray into the house to wait for Willona after he gave her that smoldering look that made her uncomfortable?

She obviously brushed that look off. That looked happened six weeks ago, and she proably thought the look was just Ray teasing her.

Shortage of black actors in the 70s? good one!
More likely an overabundance of lazy casting directors....
Actually, it's probably due to contractual obligations, as many shows employ the same "guest" character actors in a variety of roles over a period of years.
Whaddya think, a possibility?

That's right, and it wasn't something just pertaining to Black actors. Watching The Brady Bunch, you'll see the same actor playing a mailman in one episode playing a store cashier in another and a studio engineer in another. They did the same thing multiple times on Three's Company too.

The same thing applied with shows like "The Beverly Hillblies" and "Green Acres". These shows are interwined with one another along with "Petticoat Junction". Stars from Petticoat Junction crossed over to Beverly Hillbillies in the their same characters, but when PJ was canceled, then they did return to TBH but in different roles. Charles Lane, a man who played the recurring role of Homer Bedloe on PJ and TBH played a different role on the spinoff Green Acres which took place in the same town as PJ which was Hooterville.

I wish that Good Times did not use recycled actors. Too confusing. For a time, I thought that it was a shortage of black actors. LOL.
