In that first season episode (see DVD) at the end, Howard takes this shiny colorful square thingabob and puts it on the screen of their b&w TV. It's supposed to add color to the picture. I never heard of such a thing until viewing this episode. Anybody know of them? That's another interest tidbit on 1950s TV.

I think it was a fixed color filter that showed the top third of the TV screen blue, the middle third red, and the bottom green. Pretty brilliant huh? I don't think they were hugely popular.
