Default Murphy Set to Star in 'Beverly Hills Cop IV'

HOLLYWOOD - Eddie Murphy will reprise his role as Detective Axel Foley in the fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.
Executives at Paramount Pictures are keen to revive the classic action-comedy series which dominated the box office in the 1980s.

The first two pictures in the franchise were produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and his former partner Don Simpson.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura says, "Axel Foley is one of the great action-comedy characters, a character that Eddie loves.

"I'm lucky enough to help bring it back. This genre is missing from the landscape."

I don't think it's a good idea either, even though I didn't mind the third one cause it was filmed at the Amusement park near where I live.

Hollywood is running out of ideas, too many remakes. Eddie Murphy is washed up, and a remake of his classics wouldn't rejuvenate his career.

I think the movie, "Dream Girls" will save his career.

If they have Taggart, Rosewood and Bogomil (John Ashton, Judge Reinhold, Ronny Cox) back in BHC 4, I will see it.

Or at least Taggart and Rosewood.

Yeah, BHC3 suffered because (among many things) Judge was the only one who came back for the third movie.

Let's not forget that Bronson Pinchot came back as Serge in two whole scenes

Beverly Hills Cop 3 was terrible and i don't think this new sequel will be any good. Hopefully John Ashton and Judge Reinhold can come back for the new sequel. I was disappointed John Ashton wasn't in the 3rd one. I agree with GarfieldKool. Eddie's movie career is done and he's played in a lot of wack movies for the last 5 years. Life with Martin Lawrence, Bernie Mac, Anthony Anderson, Sanaa Lathan was the last good flick Eddie did.

Yeah Hollywood is running out of ideas. It's really pathetic. I think 3 sequels are enough for a movie. When a 4th sequel is made, that's too many sequels. There's gonna be a Die Hard 4. I hope that one is the last one because the 3rd one sucked.
