Has anyone else heard about this film? A friend of mine just read the book it's based on and was raving about it to me, and said they were making a movie of it. I checked out the trailer and it looks beautiful! ( It's here, if no one has seen it before.)
What do you guys think of this? I think it looks so good - dark and intense. |

I read the novel by Patrick Suskind a number of years ago and thought it was brilliant... I hope the film does the book justice, as the novel is very dark and disturbing.

Well, the movie is out in Europe right now, and I've been seeing a lot of really positive reviews from some early screenings here.
Reviews like this this one make me very excited to see the movie for myself. It calls the movie "Flat out the most exciting cinematic adaptation of a novel since Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy". (Though beware that review's got spoilers, but since you've read the book you already know them anyway. Just warning!) I've heard a lot of stuff about the more intense aspects of the story/plot, and I'm really curious as to how some of it will be presented but, since I loved Run, Lola, Run, I feel like this director knows what he is doing. The book is definitely worth reading though? |
