Default I'm already waiting for Season 3 on dvd

...and Season 2 hasn't been released officially. I hope VEI decides to continue the releases. They seem to be taking a while to follow-up on Kate & Allie. When Gimme a Break was announced so quickly, I thought it was a great sign.

I'm eager to see the Christmas episodes. I wish TV One had included them on their Holiday schedule. Seeing the pic of Joey and Nell on this page is making me want to see it at Christmas time. Hopefully, we will get more season sets in 2007 before next Christmas.

Me too, I keep checking Amazon.ca in hopes that i'll see that season 3 is coming out soon. So I hope that a few months after VEI re-release season 2 that they'll release season 3.

Season 2 has one of the better sales rank positions than any other VEI release at amazon.ca. So it seems to be one of their better-selling dvd sets. Hopefully, this means we will see the next season fairly soon.

I love how VEI adds a bonus episode from the following season. It's a great way to hype up the next set.

I'm excited too. I'll bet that GAB S3 will come out either mid Spring or mid Summer 2007. What do you think the bonus episodes for the remaining seasons should be? My choices are:
S3 Release: Bonus Episode from S4 should be an episode with Dolph Sweet in it and where he has significant lines, e.g. "Carl's Delicate Moment".

S4 Release: Bonus Episode from S5: Either "Joey's Train", "Adios, Jonathan", "The Gun" or Katie's Corner", because each of these episodes include some reference to The Chief.

S5 Release: Bonus Episode from S6: Either "Below Sea Level" (because Lara Jill Miller is in this one, which means some remaining connection with the Kanisky family and it also introduces Matthew) or "Parents Week Part one".

S6 Release: I think that it would be really cool to have some sort of retrospective on the show, like the E! True Hollywood Story or something.

What do you all think?

Good suggestions! I was just thinking how Nell Carter never really got a tribute for Gimme a Break! I would like to see something on the final set like maybe interviews with the cast, photo gallery, original promotional appearances. Any of that stuff would be great but I would be happy just to have the season episodes. Having the complete Gimme a Break! series on dvd would be fantastic!

I totally agree, I would love to see some old promos and guest appearances that she did.

I agree wholeheartedly. I too would be happy just to have the season episodes (uncut, of course), and having the complete GAB series on dvd would be awesome! It would be so great if they did have some sort of bonus features for the Season 6 release (or any of the other remaining season sets for that matter) contained interviews from surviving cast members about the GAB show as a whole, rather than just the final season. It would also be great if they could include some outtakes, photo gallery, some original promos for the series, or even the original pilot that the network did not air, but you can view the preview of the original pilot on youtube.com. Perhaps there could even be some audio commentaries from surviving cast members about some of the episodes on the remaining season sets. I also think that a tribute to Nell and GAB as a whole would be awesome. What do you all think?

So Universal Home Video is definitely not going to be releasing further seasons of GAB?

So far, no signs from Universal releasing follow-ups for Gimme a Break! or Charles in Charge (which was released on the same day). At this point, VEI will have the upper-hand though. If they release Season 3 close to the official release of Season 2, then they will gain from it. There are a bunch of episodes on Season 3 that I haven't seen in a long time so I'm excited about that happening, whenever it does.

kanisky7896, I like your ideas. I was thinking promo spots too. It would be great nostalgia.

Thanks, Robert 13! I think that these types of bonus features would boost sales for these sets, don't you think? I wonder if we should email the powers that be at VEI and 1.) Thank them for releasing these sets and 2.) Inquire as to the possibility of having some (if not all) of these types of bonus features included in future releases of GAB.

Yes, definitely e-mail VEI. I already sent them a little note just commending them on doing such a great job with Gimme a Break! and Kate & Allie. I also made suggestions for releasing other great shows that are rare like Shirley Hemphill's One in a Million and What's Happening Now!! depending on their licensing status. They are releasing Season 3 of Kate & Allie in February. So, hopefully, Gimme a Break! will be next. Let them know we will buy them and that we are fans of their releases. It definitely helps them with feedback.

Season One is now "out of stock" at amazon Canada. So this might be an indication of how well it's selling. Hopefully, Season 2 sales rise with the second release date so that we get an announcement for Season 3 by May!
