A&E Joins 'Sopranos' Mob in January - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Viewers eager to experience "The Sopranos" without all of that pesky swearing, extreme violence and nudity can catch up on the mob-tastic hit when it premieres on A&E this January.

A&E has set Wednesday, Jan. 10 as the basic cable premiere date for the Emmy-winning HBO series. Beginning with the very first episode, A&E will air back-to-back episodes every Wednesday, starting at 9 p.m. ET.

The episodes will run in sequential order and will not be edited for time. Although the show's content has, naturally, been edited, the A&E staff has worked with the show's creative team to utilize alternate versions of many scenes, as well as pre-recorded alternate dialogue, thus minimizing the need for more aggressive hacking.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer 'The Sopranos' to nearly 150 million viewers who never had the opportunity to see it when it first aired on HBO," says Bob DeBitetto, executive vice president and general manager of A&E. "This is more than just great television. 'The Sopranos' has come to define excellence in programming."

There's a cute synchronicity to A&E's premiere date, since "The Sopranos" had its HBO premiere on Jan. 10, 1999. The series' final nine episodes will launch on HBO at some point this spring.

I saw a little bit of the first season but thats it so I'll definitely be watching.

Also A&E says they might even show uncensored episodes late at night.Man I cant want for January 10th

Have you guys heard of the new online Sopranos game... it's supposed to be interactive with the show I think. Well, I started playing a couple of weeks ago and have found game pieces here:
