Hilary Duff and Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden's unusual pairing has ended.

The showbiz couple has broken up after dating for more than two years, reports People.

"I can indeed confirm that Joel is single," the band's manager, Steve Feinberg, says. "We are not going to elaborate on Joel's personal life but I will say they have split."

The couple had kept their dating under wraps until last year, when Duff turned 18. He's helped to co-produce and co-write three tracks on "Most Wanted," her greatest hits album. He also made a cameo appearance with his twin brother and bandmate Benji Madden in Duff's latest film "Material Girls," which co-starred Duff's own sibling Haylie.

Recently, Duff and Madden filed a restraining order against two men for allegedly stalking the teen queen. One of them, 18-year-old Maksim Miakovsky, was arrested on Nov. 3 for allegedly making death threats.

Duff first won fans as the klutzy "Lizzie Mcguire" on the Disney Channel. Since then, she's starred in "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," two "Cheaper by the Dozen" films, "A Cinderella Story," "Raise Your Voice" and "The Perfect Man" and "Material Girls" with sister Haylie. The Sisters Duff also collaborated by lending their voice talents to the upcoming animated "Foodfight!," in which they play items in a grocery store.
