Smile "Danny Tanner" sure has changed

Look what 20 years can do to a guy's attitude (via saget's site)

I'm sorry, but I couldn't open up the video. Could you tell me what was shown?

I knew he changed after seeing in in the movie Half Baked with Dave Chapelle. He had one line in the movie and it shocked me "Marijuana is not a drug. I used to suck dick for coke. Now that's an addiction. You ever suck some dick for marijuana?" The guy has one of the dirtiest but hilarious stand up routines.

Actually, he was still doing stand up before and during the Full House years. So he has not changed one bit. Hell, I think Rodney Dangerfield discovered him.

I don't think he ever WAS Mr. Wholesome...he just played him on TV. If you see interviews with him and the cast, you would hear otherwise. It's hard to see him as anything BUT Danny Tanner, but like someone mentioned, Bob Saget was doing stand up long before he started Full House.

Okay. I couldn't keep watching after I heard 'f*** that sh**,' but I do remember reading somewhere that even before his "Full House" years he wasn't all that clean cut. And I guess you can tell if you've seen "Half Baked." In fact, even his character on "Raising Dad" wasn't quite as wholesome as Danny was.

Matt: He was in the director's cut.

From "Raising Dad" a short lived sitcom with Bob Saget of "Full House" fame.

Very disappointing. Not very funny. Pure vulgarity.
I liked Tanny Tannner. Not so sure I like Bob Saget.

I agree. Danny Tanner was a very likeable character. I liked his clean image and basically everything else about him.
The real Bob Saget is not nearly as likeable. Just youtube for some of his stand ups.
Not funny at all and very offensive. I've never seen anyone curse that much. Pathetic..

To me the character of Danny Tanner got worse about his obsession of cleaniness and his micromanaging of the girls. He seems out of touch with the girls. I thought Jesse was more in tuned with them than Danny was. The rambling got worse each season. He was a type of person that one would say shut up.

I did like the way Danny dressed on the show. His clothes was quite nice. Also, Bob Saget through the years of the show added some muscle on him. He wasn't as skinny as he was when Full House first started.

wow I can't believe he is so different. That is disapointing, I really liked Danny Tanner's character and I thought he was at least somewhat like him.

What the OP said in the thread title is what causes people to get sick of sitcoms and not want to be involved with them or associated with them.

HE'S NOT DANNY TANNER, HE'S BOB SAGET!

In fact as others have said, this has always been his comedy style, and the character of Danny Tanner was a character and role, which you can like or dislike, just like the actor Bob Saget.

Unfortunately this happens all the time and too much. Jaleel White will always be considered Urkel, Mark Paul Gosselaar and Dustin Diamond and Zack Morris and Screech. It's an unfortunate thing that a lot of actors can't get past.
