How honest can Jan be?

Remember the episode when she had supposedly won an essay contest because she had the most points. Later she found out that she didn't win it. No other faculty person discovered the mistake, so why would Jan bring it to their attention. The average person would've let it go unless someone had noticed it.

And the bad thing is she waited until the assembly to bring it to the teacher's attention.

Jan was probably indecisive about whether or not to reveal the scoring error...after all (her 'evil' voice told her), she finally did something Marcia never did...

Adding to her indecisiveness was the fact that Mike and Carol were at the assembly, and she probably just didn't know what to do... and finally decided to do the right thing...

What I didn't like was the teacher saying "I wish I had a special award to give to Jan"....I'm thinking, hey lady, what do you mean, you WISH you could give Jan a special award?... YOU'RE THE TEACHER...YOU CAN GIVE JAN A SPECIAL AWARD IF YOU WANT TO...JUST GIVE IT TO HER, SHE DESERVES IT...

The teacher could have announced on the spot that, because of her honesty, Jan would be accepted into the Honor Society anyway. Who would have argued against it? (Nora Cooms, maybe?)
