Why has SO been down so many times within the past couple of weeks?

Seriously, it's happened before, but not at this frequency. It must be down about two or three times out of approximately the five times I come here (Yeah, I know...) each day. Can anything be done about that?

same for me. it's not for long, but it happens a LOT.

for me though, it's only happened a lot since yesterday or so.

Not only is the site "down," once you get in it could take forever (or never) to access/load a forum. For example, just to try to answer you about the trouble, it took me four tries to post.

Who will address this problem?

We are working on addressing the problem. I'm not sure what is causing everything to be slower than normal. I've tried a number of different settings, but nothing seems to work. Every time a setting is changed, the server has to be rebooted and the server will be offline for a few minutes.
