Has anyone attempted to search the Internet or services like ebay in an attempt to locate unique or unusual items related to a UM case? I'm not talking about bidding on the skunk ape costume, but rather trying to locate an item that went missing from a murder victim's home (e.g. broach or pendant), or what a missing person was last seen wearing. It seems to me that in the age of ebay, it may be possible to solve, or get additional clues about, a UM by searching for such items. Obviously a perpetrator would be unlikely to auction them, but if he/she had given or willed them to a relative, they may ultimately be listed on the Internet. Anyone aware of any UM cases which cited unique/unusal items that one might be able to locate in order to help solve the mystery?

We all know that I'm horrible with names, but there was a man who went missing and was eventually found dead who was still missing his wallet, an expensive looking turquoise ring, and a masonic belt buckle. The Masonic belt buckle is what caught my eye... I know there are a lot of Masons in the world, but I don't think they all own a belt buckle... just saying.

Thanks for the idea. Maybe I'll put a worthless trinket up for bids and hint in the description that it might be related to UM, and let you guys get into a bidding war.
Actually, my eBay account has been suspended. I just noticed I owe them $3.76 and they cut me off. Sheesh, talk about a lack of faith. |

With a big show like UM, you'd think there'd be some memorabilia on the Net.....then again I don't think UM put out much memorabilia (t-shirts, mugs, etc.)
I know what you mean tho....stuff from the victims, like Elizabeth Campbell's purse? |

Thank you! It was literally on my fingertips, but I couldn't remember. Besides, I think it would disappoint everyone if I started whipping out names. I like to think that I'm that cute ditz on this board, with my, "You know that one guy? With the girl? And he delivered pizzas?" But back to the point.... |
