Oh yes, I sympathize completely.

It's why I keep two remotes on hand, an universal and the original. So if I can't find the universal (my remote of choice), I reach over on my nightstand for the original remote, and I'm good to go.

But...my bedroom TV hasn't worked in a while now, so I can't do that right now.

I didn't know what to expect with that thread title Solomon.

I hate the disappearing remote myself. It's usually under my husband or something. Sometimes I just get up and grab the remote from the living room.

i have 3 boys, who ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS move the remotes and dont put them back

they end up behind dressers
under cushions, in cabinents
BUT NEVER WHERE THEY BELONG!

Yes I hate that! And something along the same lines...There are times when I am watching TV and eating chips and I keep turning up the TV and then I realize that almost all the way turned up, I can't hear it over my chewing. I don't even realize how loud I'm chomping while I'm slowly turning the volume up. It's really funny.

Solomon, do what I do...before you get all comfortable, look for the remote FIRST, then lay down and relax. I never sit or lay down and relax until that damn remote is in my hand! LOL

I don't even bother to get up if i'm comfortable. i call my brother from my cell(which is always by my pillow) and have him shut off the tv for me

my tv is on my nightstand, i just use the buttons on it. it's easier with the remote though because the power button and one of the channel buttons are busted in (the channel button is because of that god damned taylor hicks commercial last summer; it came on once and i darted my hand to change the channel so hard that i broke the button) though the remaining channel button also turns on the tv and i unplug it to turn it off. the end.
