Default Things I noticed after watching…

The first three seasons on DVD. Some of this stuff might have been mentioned before, which is why I’m lumping it all into one thread.

In the first episode, Eleanor leaves to get married and she has also had a baby - a son. Yet in the third season, when she returns for a visit, Eleanor explains that she got divorced but makes no mention of her son. She’s just so happy to be apart from her husband and she plans on moving away.

Also, Linda just keeps on coming back. Before she made an appearance, jack mentioned Linda, but she dumped him. Then in another episode, she appeared (played by ALF’s Anne Schedeen). She made another appearance and dumped Jack, after he cheated on her. And then later in the third season, Linda replaces Janet for an episode living with Jack and Chrissy.

Also, I finally understand their money troubles. The trio owes the Ropers $300 a month. Janet works at Flower shop. Chrissy works as a secretary, and Jack goes to school. So Janet and Chrissy always have their share, but Jack hardly ever has his. I never got why they were always short on the rent before, but I’ve been watching the episodes more closely this time around. So later on, once Jack works at the restaurant, and Terri lives with them, they have NO excuse for money troubles.

Another thing, I've been watching these episodes in a row for a few days now, and it's gets annoying after awhile with Mrs. Roper - she has only one thing on her mind, lol. It's more in-your-face when you watch a bunch of episodes in a row.

I like the Ropers when they're with the trio, but they get on my nerves when they're by themselves in the apartment. I'll still buy the spin-off if it ever comes to DVD, which I'm betting it will, but I don't think they needed a spin-off. And even though I love Mr. Furley, I'll always feel bad for Norman Fell, who never wanted to leave Three's Company for The Ropers in the first place.

Nice observations. I can see eye to eye on just about everything you said. I give you props for going through 1-3 in one day. I love the show but some of them, personally, are either annoying or just doesn't make any sense to me. Before you guys get on my back, I know it wasn't supposed to make sense but still I think you can agree with me that there were some that you just went either "Well, duh" or "Huh?"

In season three, episode #46, titled "Stanley's Hotline." They mention that Janet went away for a while and since Jack and Chrissy didn't want it to be just the two of them, Jack asked Linda to live with them. It's only for one episode though.
