Default How much is cut from the CTS episodes?

I often get the impression that they go to commercial before a scene is finished and even closing tags are occasionally missing. Does anybody know exactly how much is cut? How about you Sal?

These are the same syndicated shows as airs on TVLand, except it seems they are using older, faded prints.

I can't tell you exactly how much has been cut but I can give you a couple of examples that prove that the episodes have been tampered with in some fashion.

Example 1: Fonzie Moves In --- 3rd season premiere

When Fonzie agrees to live in the Cunninghams' attic and even pays Mr. C. one month's rent in advance, Richie gives him his money back, telling him that his father still wanted to think it over. Fonzie replies: "I'll stay for one week and if I don't like it, I'll leave." This line gets a big laugh from the audience, yet if you haven't seen the entire episode, you won't get the joke. In the previous scene, which CTS had cut, Howard tells Richie that he'll let Fonzie stay for one week and if he doesn't like it then Fonzie has to leave.

Example 2: My Favorite Orkan

The legendary Robin Williams episode. At the end of this episode, Richie's meeting with Mork is revealed to be a nightmare. After his family has gone upstairs to bed, Richie answers the door. He sees Mork as a normal Earthling simply asking for directions and starts to panic. Mork thinks Richie is crazy and slowly closes the door. The next scene has been cut by CTS (and I would guess by other stations as well). Mork stands outside the Cunningham house and plots his next mission on Earth, to be continued on "Mork And Mindy", and ends the show by saying, "Destination: Boulder, Colorado, 1978."

Now if anyone else remembers these scenes and knows where you can find the uncut versions, let me know.

The thing about that "My Favorite Orkan" scene is that I don't think it was part of the episode's original broadcast. From what I've read, that was added for the reruns after ABC decided to make Mork & Mindy. Anyway, the U.S. TV Land's version of the episode includes that scene.

I recently watched the episode on CTS, and every scene you described was included.

You can find the uncut version of Fonzie Moves In on the season 3 DVD set.
As for The Robin Williams episode hopefully we will soon have that on DVD as well? What season was that in anyways? Was it 5 or 6?

What's CTS? Call letters to a syndicated TV station?

Both. He first appeared in that season 5 ep, "My Favorite Orkan", where he wanted to take Richie back with him to Ork for a "bleem", and then he returned in that season 6 ep., "Mork Returns", which was just another clip show. So there were 2 Robin Williams eps. Both as Mork from Ork.

And can't wait for Season 5 to come out on DVD since that was the first Chachi season when Scott Baio joined the cast as Fonzie's cousin.
