She talked abt her struggle for years with Bulimia and trying to stay skinny. she finally got over that battle and is now overweight.

My boyfriend called me from work one day to tell me that Maureen was in his place of business and she was overweight. I was shocked when he told me this since I hadn't seen her recently and I always imagined her thin. He wasn't sure it was her at first until she gave him her name when she was placing a special order.

That is definitely a step up from the last project I heard she was involved in ("HBO Shock Video" or something similar). Go, Maureen, go!

I wanna let all you poor, heterosexual men and women in on a little secret about some of us gay guys.

Those of us (not me, I work in insurance) who work in the fashion, makeup and hair industries are subconsciously getting revenge on the world for being singled out, picked on, belittled, beaten up, etc as children by homophobic heterosexuals.

It's a simple thing, really. What we've done is to foist a false version of womanhood on the world, one where, if you look closely at the female models on the runway, you'll see that they are tall, thin, chiseled, flat-chested and narrow-hipped.

Not unlike a young MALE.

The tragic result of all this is that grown women try to cram their bodies into this warped shape and they will do anything---including undereating, over-exercising, abusing laxatives and developing bullemia and anorexia---to make it happen. The hair and makeup $tyle$ that are so over the top these days is yet another example of the extremes a woman will go to try to attract a man, when natural beauty---the kind represented by the 1970's Marcia and Jan Brady---is always what attracts a man.

Grown men, meanwhile, find themselves fetishizing this weak, sickly, overdone version of a woman, when they would otherwise naturally be attracted to the full-figured, large-bosomed, wide-hipped women that today's Maureen McCormick and tens of millions of American women are perfect examples of.

Get a clue straight people and don't let bitchy gays have their way with your body imagery!

Love women as they ARE!

Yep. I had posted this info a long time ago and some didn't realize this abt her:

It's weird having watched the series and hearing "Marcia Brady's" voice talking such stuff!

This could explain a lot...

I've never been able to figure out why these so-called 'super-models' are held up to be the way women are 'supposed' to look...

I would never be interested in any woman that I could wrap my arms around TWICE...

If some commerical comes on and shows a bunch of 'supermodels' on a runway, I always think, 'this is ridiculous...I know hundreds and hundreds of women that are far better looking that what's up on that runway...what's the big deal?"

Of course, the fashion industry is a bunch of b.s. anyway

I give kudos to Maureen for being brave and sharing her story. I wish her nothing but the best with her health and weight issues.

Just want to add my two cents...

I am 27 years old and have been naturally thin all my life. I have a rapid metabolism and am also a nervous, jittery person as well. I'm 5'8 and 112 lbs, have a 25" waist and 27" hips. There have been low points in my life where I have either simply lost my appetite or didn't want to eat and saw my weight drop, most seriously in the fall of 2000, when I dropped below 100 lbs, which is dangerous for me. There are times I wish I were sturdier in build and curvier, because I'm not sure at all a man would want me because I'm so bony. Even though I am eating better and more frequently, I have to admit that I am very self-concious about my frame.

Just wanted to throw in a slightly different perspective...
