I am trying to figure out what that "sock line" quote means. In the episode "Dances with Darlene," there's a dialogue between Roseanne and Becky after Darlene tries on the dresses. Here's what the dialogue is saying:
Roseanne: [to Darlene] ....of course, you're going to have to start shaving below the sock line. Becky: [to Roseanne] Those aren't socks. Roseanne says "the" sock line implying the line itself, but Becky says "those" implying plural. I'm confused. What does that exactly mean? Can anyone explain? |

That Darlene's legs were either dirty or very hairy (dark) giving the look that she wore socks.
