Possible UM segment?

I barely remember these small details so bare with me. I'll do my best to explain them.

All I remember about the segment is there was a black man who kidnapped a woman. The woman was not black, but I don't remember what race she was. Anyway either he made her drive, or he drove, into a grassy area. They lost controll of the car and drove it into a ditch. He became so angry that he killed her some how. He could have used a gun, a knife, or his hands. The man left and wasn't seen again. Some time later someone stumbled upon the car and the womans body. At the end they showed a composite sketch of the man.

No, it wasn't the "Shot in the face" segment. Nor was it the segment about the unidentified caller reporting the murder of a young black woman at the hands of a man named Ricardito. Was this even an episode on UM or could it have been from some other show?

If the woman really was killed, then it definitely couldn't have been the one about the woman being kidnapped, raped, and shot in the face; that victim survived.

But if anything, I recall a segment about a woman and her five-year-old son who were shot to death (though it may not be the case you're thinking of). Both of their bodies, along with the dead woman's car, were found in a field. The victims were Roxann Jeeves and Kristopher Korper. The crime occurred in Texas, on December 23, 1981.

That UM segment aired on NBC in April 1994. It has never shown up on Lifetime.

The Gretchen Burford case has some similarities to the story you're describing. A black man did get into her car and forced her to drive to an ATM. She did wreck the car (police think on purpose to get someone's attention) and the man did stab her to death and fled the scene.

The lady wasn't a lawyer was she? I remember a seggie where a black man did kidnap a woman (some legal advocate) and made her drive but I think the car crashed at a store or something like that and he stabbed her and ran. I think the woman's name was Gretchen something...

Gretchen Burford was a lawyer. She was kidnapped, sent to a drive-thru bank machine, escaped by crashing into a parked car, and died of a stab wound (as reenacted in the UM segment from 1990). This occurred in California, in 1988. A Texas inmate named Tyrone Hamel was linked to the case via DNA.

I don't think so. I did see the Gretchen Burford segment when it aired originally and what made me remember it for life was when she yelled out "He stabbed me". No. This wasn't it. I don't know why I want to tie this segment that I'm thinking of with the one about the black girl murdered in Florida by the guy named "Ricardito". Maybe I saw them both on the same night?

By the way, when you mentioned the segment about a black girl being murdered in Florida, are you by any chance referring to the young woman who was decapitated in a field? That particular crime occurred in 1991. Although it's been a while since I've seen that segment, my understanding is that the black woman was named Rebecca Young.
