Default Nintendo Wii

Anyone here get one, or know anyone who got one.
It's harder to find than a PS3 here, it's insane. Everyone is sold out.
I hope all the people who bought them just to sell on ebay lose out, cause there is supposed to be more coming, unlike the PS3.

They weren't too hard to find here in Los Angeles. Most electronics stores had about 20-30 each. They were all gone by noon though.

Alot of the employees were saying that the Wii is "funner" and more interactive than the PS3. Interesting, IMO.

The funny thing is, the Wii wasn't advertised nearly as much as PS3 and XBox 360. I just heard about Wii last week.

Nintendo always does that. Remember the DS two years ago?

We have to admit that releasing the Wii a few days after PS3 was a genius move.

I agree with that statement. Sometimes games are more than just fancy graphics.

The Target here had 50 and they were gone at opening.

The Wii looks fun, but I doubt I'd get one. I hardly ever play my Gamecube. I'm not really a gamer.

I like the fact that you can download many of the old games I grew up with, but I'm not sure about that crazy controller.

Yes that is one of the things I like about it too! I love all the NES games I grew up with.

I never had any interest in buying one, but South Park made me want one. Haha

You can purchase a Wii-compatible "original" controller.

Default People desperate for one.....

I guess people around here were desperate for them.

Our Walmart is open 24hrs and planned to put them out at 12:01am today
so I called them around 10pm last night because my son really wants one,
just to verify there were putting them out.

The lady said that unless we had "Slept in the Garden Center of Walmart"
we couldn't get one. She said 25 people spent the night in order to
get the 25 that came in!

I'll do a lot for my son, almost anything but I won't spend the night at Walmart!!

You have to give it a chance first. Once you try out the Wii controller, it'll fall into place. It's the one with the built-in sensor... So if you play Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii, you can move the controller as if to slash it through the air, to make Link slash his sword on the screen. If you play a racing game like Excitetruck and tilt your controller, you can make your truck move on the screen.

If I had one, that's where it would be going. I think that those "sensor" type game systems where your own body movements move the characters on the screen are just a cheap marketing gimmick that won't hold up with the majority of gamers. But, we'll see.

lol....the other selling point of the Wii is the fact you can buy a point card and use that to download games from older Nintendo consoles and play it directly on your Wii. You don't even need the Wiimote for that...that's what the 'classic style' controller is for.
