Sad Pop Idol is an embarassment to pop history! :(

Not that pop history isn't an embarassment on it's own!

Seriously. How can they say that a 20 stone guy can be a pop idol? We're supposed to look up to that? What, so...to be famous pop stars we have to gain weight? Riight. How can they let Korben in? Eww! The programme's a mess, it's a waste of everyone's time and it's the tackiest show in the world.

As if we haven't been cursed with Hear'Say for long enough. Now we have to look up to and try to be like these absolute idiots and listen to their music.

In my opinion, Tania shouldo f won! She's talented, pretty and can sing. She deserved to win fair and square. Not Korben or whoever!

I'm not saying none of these people can sing, or that weight matters. But they're looking for a pop IDOL. Someone to base the whole of the music industry on. I don't think you're gonna get that with the losers everyone's voting for.

And please...no one kill me for any of this. It's just MHO.

I think you're wasting your time talking about 'Pop Idol' on this board. 99% of people here are Americans and they won't have a clue what you're talking about.
And I completely agree with you - Hear'say should be shot!!!

I don't know what your talking about. But hey! Since when did I have to know what anybody was talking about topost what I think?

Why are people trying to find someone for an idol? That doesn't seem at all smart.

Consider yourself lucky that you have never had the misfortune of having to listen to their "songs". Hear'say are a prime example of everything that is wrong with the music industry.

We don't have it too easy Mossopp, we have our own "Pop Stars" television show too, but nobody watches it.
Oh, and of course you're forgetting N*SYNC and Britney saturating MTV's airwaves.
I can't stand even watching a minute of TRL...
And I've heard of Hear'Say(what kind of name is that? It's almost as bad as Take That)Ha! That's a group that you Brits must of dreaded. Luckily they only had one "hit" here, "Back for Good". They would of started the whole "boy-band"thing five years too early!

Oh God - I had no idea that Take That ever had a hit in the States! On behalf of everyone in Britain I'd like to apologise for inflicting their awfulness on your country.
I see what you're saying - America does have it's fair share of awful pop groups but Britain has it worst of all. There is a new rubbish pop band unleashed on the British public every week - or at least it seems that way. Be very, very thankful that you've never had to endure any of the following...

S Club 7
Atomic Kitten
A1
Upside Down
Steps
Craig David
Boyzone
Let Loose
Worlds Apart
East 17
Billie Piper
All Saints
the list continues......

And be extremely thankful that noone in your country has ever heard of 'Garage'. It's a huge craze over here at the moment and if I hear one more Garage track I swear I'll have to shoot myself!!!

I think we in the states have it pretty bad too, and here is why: it is very difficult to escape pop music. True, Britain may have more pop groups unleased on the unfortunate public, however, from what I understand, you guys at least have a decent TV music station (I would LOVE to have that one station you described, that was nothing but rock videos mostly).

TRY finding a rock video on MTV or VH1. They AREN'T there. They used to have the Headbanger's Ball-no more. Ok, actually, I was wrong, you can find rock on VH1, for one measly hour a week, on The Rock Show.

Ok, actually, we all have it bad. No one is safe from pop.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy I happen to like S Club 7!!! They even got their own cool TV show over hear. Oh well anyways, be VERY happy you all have never heard "Hear'Say". The song "Bridge Over Troubled Water" Oh Lord, that song gives me the worst headache. "Show Me a Way to Your Love". Same thing. And HOW can I forget "Pure and Simple"? You all haven't heard ANYTHING until you have heard this group.

Yes, they did indeed have a hit here in the states. And Robbie Williams made a minor splash here a couple years ago. "Millenium" was in the Top 20...he's not TOO bad.

S Club 7 actually has their own show here, sort of like The Partridge Family...
Steps ahd a Disney Special Concert thing once. Man they suck...
Craig David. He had a hit here recently...
Boyzone. What a laugh they are.
All Saints. Didn't they sing that "Never Ever" song? One hit wonder here...

"Garage", eh? I'm not familiar...can you give me an example of a song or something?

One song is "Out of your mind"... and yeah All Saints sang "Never Ever". But as for SClub7, I think they are pretty cool, and Craig David is cool too. The ones that just bug the hell out of me are Hear'say

It's kinda hard to describe Garage. Craig David sorta does Garage but it's a bit more 'poppy' to make the screaming teenage girls buy his records. What song of his was it that you've heard? If it was 'Rewind' then I feel very, very sorry for you as that is the song that is single-handedly responsible for bringing Garage music to the fore over here. I'm not too worried about it all though cos it'll probably disappear in a couple of months anyway. Everyone was listening to Latino stuff last year and now everyone's sick of it. Hopefully people will get bored with Garage pretty soon.
You think All Saints music sucks? You should see them try to act! See if your local video store has any copies of 'Honest' - it's one of the worst movies of last year!!!
Have you heard of Westlife? They are undoubtably the WORST boyband in existance. I have no idea why they are so popular cos, not only is their music boring, they are ugly and incredibly stupid. Beats me why all the teeny-boppers go crazy for them.
The only half decent boyband I've ever seen were Five and, unfortunately, they broke up a couple of months ago.

I don't really remember the actual Craig David song, but I do remember the video. And it has him running down a flight of stairs, and through a convienence store or something?
Westlife...aren't they the Irish boyband?
Five, I remember them. They had that 'when the lights go out' song, right?
Gosh, only if N*SYNC and the Backstreet Boys would break up as well...

I think the song by Craig David is called "Fill Me In". UGH I have heard the song "Rewind" and I hate it. Anyways, yup Five had the song "When the Lights Go Out".
