Question about an episode - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In "What Goes Up..." (the one where Bobby sprains his ankle and is afraid of heights), Marcia is absent from the episode. Do they mention anything about where she is? I don't remember anything. I can see if the episode took place over a weekend; she could be staying at a friend's house. But this episode took place over several days and no Brady has ever been gone that long.

Did something happen to Maureen? Barry doesn't mention anything in his book.

I also thought it was weird that Greg didn't go on the trampoline.

While I never noticed this while watching the show in it's original run, there are a few episodes in which one Brady kid is missing. I don't know if they did this with all the kids, but somewhere here there's a thread that addresses that issue.

I read that it was done simply to cut costs... apparently, the kids were paid on a per-show basis, rather than a straight salary for the season.

I'm not sure, but I think Bobby was missing from one episode (maybe the one when they build the boat), and I forgot which other episodes had a kid missing.

Bobby wasn't missing when they built the boat, that's when he split his pants. But you're right, Tweety. I think kids were missing in other episodes too. I know it happened with Carol and Mike too. Sometimes they explained it and sometimes they didn't.

I'll look for the possible previous thread about it.

Bobby actually was not in the episode in which Carol and Cindy get laryngitis with the weekend on the boss' yacht coming up ... I was close, I knew the episode had something to do with boats

I think Marica was missing from the trampoline episode.

Mike missed two episodes as well (when Alice quit and Kay took her place, in addition to the final episode of course).
