Default Anybody around to see the first airing of episodes?

Is anyone old enough to actually see Good times in it's original run? Anyone watched the promos for "next week's" Good Times? I mean, they way we in 2006 see Promos for next week's "My Name Is Earl".

I did.

They didn't do that. TV was different then. Also, you didn't have so many damn commercials. Promos were unheard of then. THAT WAS WHEN TV WAS AT IT'S BEST. They didn't talk over the credits, they didn't shrink the credits, they didn't have anything at all. It was all abt the show ending with credits! NO PROMOS. You had to wait for the TV guide to tell you what the next episode was about.

I remember seeing the show when it originally aired, it was one of my favorites of that time. It only showed a promo for the next weeks episode if it were a two parter.

I was around for the original run of episodes, but I can't remember if they did promos or not. I was only 7 back then.

I remember when it was on. There was one time in the 1st grade when I wrote something for school. I saw another kid put some drawing of a cartoon character on their paper, so I thought I could do that, too. So I made a little drawing of J.J. with his hat, saying "Dynomite". Now, I didn't mean to put "Dynomite" so close to where I put my name on the paper, but when the teacher was handing them back to us and calling our names, when she got to mine, she said "Sammy Dynamite?"

Ok, why don't you tell us what that tape of yours showed abt Good Times.

Janice is asking, were there any promos showing the next week's episode. The only time they did that was when it was a two, three or four parter. They never showed us what the next episode was going to be abt. Nor, do I recall ever, during a commercial, a sneak peek at what the next episode was going to be abt.

I watched every one of the orginal eps, and I don't remember any showing of promos unless they were a 2- or 3-parter. The announcer would say "next week on Good Times". If you listen closely, on the reruns, the announcer says the same thing. It's funny now, because you know that they are going to show "next week's" episode tomorrow LOL
