Post Community POLL Commericals

OKay

Commerical question

Commercials have been around forever-
Some trade them, some collection them, some hate them.

When you trade/create-

How do you handle them...

Only time I leave them is when I'm recording a baseball or football game or some other sporting event like that.
This is also how I receive almost all games I buy and trade for (w/commercials) - all ads are the originals, so it's different.
(the ads help bring you back to that era - nostalgia I guess, so I can see why some like them so much)

Most shows I record now are from syndication, so there's no need for them.
Even if I had original airings, I don't think I'd keep the commercials. I'd cut them out and preserve them however on a seperate disc or something.

I can't stand watching them, and usually remove them in all the recordings I make. I almost feel kinda spoiled being able to fast forward through them on the Tivo.

I wouldn't complain about them not being removed from a set received in a trade though, not THAT big of a deal.

I don't HATE them but I sure don't LIKE them. I do prefer shows without commercials. When making my own sets for trading, I normally leave them in (if they are there) because it's easier/faster & if the recipient likes them, then Bingo!

BUT...if I was making a collectible type set, then I would definitely remove them. (I have started a couple but still have a looooong way to go to complete them.)

If I was making a set I wouldn't leave them it. Takes to much room on the DVD's. I am working on a Match Game set and the episodes are 21 minutes long without commercials. That is 9 minutes per episode of waisted space if I left them in.

I did make a collection of Cheers episodes with original commercials though. It is only 2 disks, but it has 8 episodes. That is enough for me. Can't imagine having all 11 seasons like that.

well most of the time i take it how it is----- if i trade for a set with commericals it usually stays that way

if its an OLD set with rare commercials from the 50s or 60s or early 70s, i dont mind as much as though can be interesting to see again

BUT at the same time, if i do a set myself, i remove the commercials from the shows
