Lightbulb If James was here...(things that wouldn't happen)

Hey y'all! Love that Good Times. Thank God for that show. Right on time in the 1970's. Overdue actually. Despite its faults & flaws one of the best of TV.

Ya know I'm watching the Post-James Sr. era & when I see events go on in the show many times I think to myself,
"This wouldn't happen if James was here."

Take the episode with Sweet Daddy Williams trying to rough up J.J. in that traffic accident story to get him to lie in S.D.'s favor for Savannah Morgan.

If James was there, that wouldn't have gone down like that.
James woulda took Bubba Smith AND his counterpart ALONG with Sweet Daddy & told them where they can go with that in a way that only James can.

And ho ho! The bigamist episode with Thelma.
James woulda laid the absolute smackdown on that candy "ahss".
You don't mess around with James' "Baby Girl".

There's many moments in that show that woulda turned out a WHOLE lot differently if James was there.

What moments can YOU think of that woulda turned out completely different
If James Was There?

I don;t think so because James was a little imtimidated by Bubba Smithand his Counterpart in the ep-"Sweet Daddy Williams" during season 3

Welcome to the board!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoy it here.

BTW, why does your join date show 2005?????

I know for a fact that Keith wouldn't have slapped the sh*t outta Thelma. And if Keith was so damn drunk and stupid to have done that anyway, James would've let him have it!

Too lazy to post LOL!
Plus don't always come here as frequently.
Since I've been watching the Good Times reruns so much on TVLand AND TVOne I had to touch down here first.

I even made the Good Times theme the town tune in one of my towns for the Nintendo Gamecube game Animal Crossing. (if anybody knows anything about that game you'll know how that the repeated use of the tune makes you think of the show)

Thanks for the welcome Irene.

And oh yeah Thelma woulda been a widow in 1978 REAL QUICK.

Keith thought James Jr. did a number on him with the trip/broken leg dealie...
...WAIT until he saw what James SR. woulda put on his 'arse' after daring to put his hand on "Baby Girl"! Hohohohohoho!

(i need to see that James/Sweet Daddy episode Solomon. Only thing James backed down from was from a gun so I can see that happening)

I would have backed down too if you showed me a gun! I don't know anyone who would NOT HAVE!

If James had taken that Alaska job...HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THAT ACCIDENT IN MISSISSIPPI THAT TOOK HIS LIFE!!!!!!

Oh yeah, if James had been around when Willona's ex Ray showed up, he would have talked Flo outta inviting him over to Willona's birthday celebration. Can you imagine what he would have done knowing that Ray put his hands on Thelma??????????????

I think if James was alive Keith wouldnt have moved in anyway. He would have made sure that Keith had a place for him and Thelma before the wedding. I could also see him kicking out that girl that jj was dating that was giving him ulcers. Just a few things I can think of right now

Everyone let's not forget that Ben Powers was only on the Show because John amos was fired. So it wouldn't have been a such thing as Keith moving in with The Evans if amos never was fired
