Default "Stage to Yuma" is AVAILABLE!

Truly one from "Ripley's Believe It or Not".

Long time fans of FKB know that of all the so-called "lost" episodes, the one considered as hard to find as Jimmy Hoffa's body is "Stage to Yuma". A second season episode which was never part of any syndication package. (And when you see it, you'll know why.)

Guess what? I FOUND IT!

More info to come.

It's been out there a while. I got it over a year or so ago myself. It just takes a little looking sometimes. I've seen it on a few people's lists recently so it's circulating now. Glad you found it.

Default Robert Young...

...wanted to try an "experiment" at the beginning of the second season, in late 1955. He wanted to appear as someone other than "Jim Anderson" on the show. It was planned that "Stage To Yuma" would appear as a "special episode" of "FATHER KNOWS BEST", with Young appearing at the beginning of the show- as himself- and telling viewers that "tonight's episode" would be different, and that the Anderson family would not appear in the story they were about to see...and that it concerned a story of the Old West... However, either NBC or Scott Paper Company (the show's sponsor) insisted that the "special episode" be presented WITHIN the framework of "FATHER KNOWS BEST". So, a "special" prologue and epilogue was filmed instead, with Jim Anderson telling the children about his ancestor who.....Eventually, Columbia withdrew this episode from syndication, and was subsequently "lost" in their archives.
But this episode has never really been "lost".

Default I HAVE "Not His Type" -- how do I get "Stage to Yuma"??

I have a decent recording of "Not His Type" -- not sure why this episode is now considered lost, since my local UHF station ran it in the late '80s (when I recorded it).

Do you have a recording of "Stage to Yuma"? I'd love to see that!

Larry
