Default Possible hit and run accident

Anyone have any updates on the case of the 14 year boy who was either hit by a car or was jumped by other teenagers. Apparently a passerby came to his aid. The passerby said the 14 year old kept calling out the name Brian. The passerby also saw a young boy in the nearby wooded area running from the scene. A friend of the 14 year olds name Brian was questioned but denied knowing anything about the incident. Brian did admit to having on the same clothes that the boy had on running in the wooded area.

That would be Russell Evans. Unfortunately there have been no arrests. Sadly the good samaritan interviewed in the segment passed away in the last year or two and I sent her a daughter a copy of the segment. Thats where I got my information from.

Its a wedding photo of Jule and Dottie Caylor. As you may or may not remember she's the one who suffered from agorophobia who disappeared and many people think Jule was responsible although he's never been arrested and she's never been found.

I believe the parents recount of what happened that night is the most accurate. I think that Russell was involved in a fight prior to the hit and run. Despite the fact that the guys who initially threatened the guys at the park have passed a Polygraph test, I still think they have something to do with it. They could have targeted Russell and used him as collateral damage, to send a message to his friend Aaron. Then, they setup the hit and run to hide the evidence.

But who was this Brian character?

I think Brian is a friend of Russells who is also a bystander. Brian knows who the attackers were and saw what happened.

Any updates on this story?

I find the police on this case to be some of the most shoddy and arrogant law enforcement officials this side of the Tommy Burkett case. Their account of a hit and run accident deviates from so much of the physical evidence that I can't see how they can support it unless either the Evans are fabricating their own evidence or we are being left in the dark about something.

I've come to two conclusions about this case: The confrontation in the park between Russell Evans, his pals and the older boys did not go down the way UM depicted it. I don't care if Russell Evans was tall for his age, there is no way that boys who have a good five years on Evans and his pals would've backed down from them even if they were outnumbered.

I also believe that Russell's friend Brian perhaps set his friend up to be attacked that night. I can't believe that if in fact it was a pre-medidated attack that it was just a coincidence that these boys would've know that Russ would've been walking down that particular street at that particular time without some knowledge being funnelled their way. I believe this is the true reason that Brian has never come forward with all that he knows about this case because there is a strong likelyhood in my mind that he is somehow implicated in all of this as well.

How could Brian's laces come completely off his shoes?

How could there be THREE blood spots on the road? NOT in a line, like a body being thrown and rolling. The spots were in no pattern consistent with a hit and run

My gut feeling on this case is this: Those two teenagers who he stopped from attacking his friends DID hit him with a car, (intentionally, they probably were out looking for Brian and/or his friends to show them who owns the night) explaining some of the injuries that the police found conistent with a car accident, then got out of the car and finished Brian off with a baseball bat, board, club or pool que.

By the way...these guys who did this are complete cowards. I think there were at least three people involved. Three on one!

In an unrelated UM story involving another hit and run,

On 23 December 1988, 4 young African American boys are driving along a highway when they begin to be tailgated by a light blue car. The car kept hitting the other cars bumper for several miles before the African American's car was driven off the road. One of the boys was killed. It is believed the motive was racism but police are unsure. The purpetrator had Georgia licence plates.

I meant Russell when I said Brian in the above post. Sorry for the confusion.

I can't get it out of my head that a "Brian" was mentioned twice in the same night FOLLOWING the attack, could Brian have happened on the scene during or after the attack and ran for his life when he saw what was happening, fearfull that he was next on the hit list?

Maybe his calling of the hospital was out of guilt

AVERMAN, you are quick! I was just correcting my post when you post.

And how is it I just finished watching that hit and run that you just mentioned? You must be reading my mind!

Seeing those old purple bars with UNEXPLAINED DEATH in gold...man it never gets old...or and less scary!

I have to say I'm quite surprised how popular this show still is.

Maybe the show should really return back to lifetime instead of that new lame lifetime channel.

I know. Those gold bars and when it says THE UNEXPLAINED or something really freak me out too. I don't like how they changed that opening intro in later episodes to just the UM logo and the name of the segment.

dynoguy88, You're a legend. Watching your clips is pretty much all I do on the net now. I think i'm gonna exceed my download limit pretty soon from watching so many UM clips. By the way, i'm one of your subscribers

I really wish they'd bring back repeats of the show back in Australia. After it went off the air in Australia in the late 1990's they began screening re-runs early mornings later on, but since then there's nothing. I think they played it on Pay TV. I know that in 2004, UM played in Macedonia when i was there. They played 2 episodes back to back at 11am and 12pm.

In regards to the Russell Evans story, wouldn't there have been evidence of a hit and run on the vehicle that did it? Do they know what type of vehicle it was?

dynoguy88, was it you who posted the "CULT MURDERS" segment? I have wanted to see that segment for the longest of times.

Astonishing as it may seem, so many of of the quotes from this show, seemingly long sense forgotten, come back to me as I'm watching these segments. In the Russell Evans story, for some reason, first time I see his father being interviewed, I remember thinking, he's going to say, "...he had it all planned out...", and then when Russell passes his friend, "...he seemed all pumped up about it..."

Why aren't segments like this on BIZZARE MURDERS? I mean, it's my opinion that, even if it was just a hit and run, (I don't think it was) I think that it was, like I said, the same people from earlier in the night. They were involved, in some way. I'm sure.

AVERMAN, yes I would think there would be enough evidence to prove that Russell was NOT hit by a hit and run driver. His father pointed it out easily that there would have been a long even mark from a bumper had that happened, not the irregular patterns of bruises all over his body. And the blood on the shoe laces....come on. There's no way you would even bleed that much after being hit by a car - not while you're flying through the air at least. When you hit the pavement, maybe. But the pools of bood were over 80 feet from where his body was found. Surely the Spokane police should be smart enough to realize this.
