Default Quick question?

Just wondering how safe paying by money order or cashiers cheque is on ebay to people in the USA? Just I have located a complete set of Hanging with Mr Cooper on ebay but have never used these methods and I am from the UK and have no idea about these payment methods.

THanks

hi, i have taken money orders from international buyers on ebay several times. it needs to be an international money order. i would also look at the sellers feedback. if they have alot of feedback from buyers, then i would say it is ok to send them an international money order. if most of their positive feedback is from sellers, then they are probably ok, but could not be experienced as a seller themselves. thanks

STOP!!! I'd say that, that set is sale is 99.9% fake! Trust me.

I'm just about finished making up seasons 1 and 2 from when it aired here, and I've searched high and low for other seasons, it's one of the rarest, it's on a lot of people's want list.

The only person I found claiming to have it was the Brazilian scammer.

Plus, the method of payment they are asking for is untraceable, which is the hallmark of a scammer.

Can you post some details about the seller, the auction ,etc...?

I'm sure detective T-Greg will be able to uncover something.

Like J said,

If this is your seller, I'd proceed with caution

hmmmmm
they seem to have SEVERAL "complete" series that NOONE has complete

id use the ASK A QUESTION and ask for the city/state they are from or for references

most sellers on ebay have sold before (often on ebay before) so they SHOULD give u info if legit, if not, then id check back in 2 weeks once they have sold some items and see what the deal it

it smells a bit fishy to me!

a warning

There are some sellers who LOOK AT THIS SITE to find WANT LISTS

then they put sets up on ioffer or ebay of these same items

WITHOUT HAVING THEM

a few months ago someone had COMPLETE In the Heat Of The Night, Empty Nest, etc on iofffer--- 2 weeks later, he had like 80% bad comments from people he stole from and was banned

these people COUNT ON someone JUMPING RIGHT ON A RARE SET and then taking the $$$ and running

so ask first, and if he wont take pay pal or such, see if he can send it COD cash on delivery

watch your back!

COD?

Who would send something like this COD? That's unheard of.

Yeh that was the auction. Just noticed the other sets. I won't be purchasing. Thanks for the help. I may check within a week or so to see if he has sold many.

Actually though, the seller in question was "ID Verified" so isn't that a good
thing? You have to pay for that and they check your credit report I believe
for verification of your identity. Why would a scammer go to that extent, or is that part of the scam?

For ID Verify you must:

Be a resident of the United States or U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and Guam).

Provide your home address, not your company’s address.

Pay a $5.00 application fee.

When you have successfully passed the ID Verify process, the fee is charged to your eBay account.

If you do not complete the process or if you do not successfully pass the ID Verify process, you are not charged.

Enter information such as your name and date of birth. You will also need to identify certain installment and credit accounts, and their associated monthly payments. The ID Verification process is not a credit check, the credit information is for identification purposes. Your personal information is cross-checked against consumer and business databases for consistency. When your information is successfully verified, you will receive an ID Verify icon.

ID verification is easilly gotten around
i know "scammers" who get on there and use their sisters info or a friend agrees to let them do it

there is nothing that is done against them if they get suspended, so it only costs $5 and a friends reputation to get it done

i HOPE im wrong, but seems awful fishy to have SO MANY sets COMPLETE that noone else does

I contacted him enquiring about payment. He said that he does not accept Paypal under any circumstances, but will accept Western Union

Also, if you look at his feedback, he has only sold two items, both are private, and from buyers who normally buy clothing. My guess is that he sold a t-shirt or two, and kept it private to make it look as though he sold dvd sets.

Obviously a conner, some of the rarest sets around, and all on 8 discs.
