First, let me apologize if this is the wrong forum but since I know some of you have made sets before I thought someone could help.
Question is: How do you make a custom menu when burning dvds? Is there a certain program out there and if so what would you recommend? Do the menus take up space on the disc and if so how much? Thanks in advance for any help. I finished making season 5 of Yes, Dear.... I'd take a screen of the menu I created with TMPGEnc DVD Author but print screens don't work with media player. Also, anyone know how to play a video clip such as the theme as the menu background. (Using DVD Author)? |

There are several programs. Nero (IMO) seems to be the easiest to use, when you're a beginner. But I quickly outgrew it and normally use DVD-Lab Pro. I remember when I first played with the trial version of DVD-Lab Pro, it seemed really intimidating. But (IMO), it's really much better than Nero. IOW, I guess there is a trade off. Nero is very easy to use, but DVD-Lab Pro allows you to have control over your menus & combine various formats on the same disc. DVD-Lab has another version (non-Pro) but it doesn't give you the flexibility that the Pro version does.
Menus do take up space, but not much. A couple places I'd suggest you check out are videohelp.com and cdfreaks.com oh, and afterdawn.com - all have lots of info about this subject. |

I was told he made the Smart Guy menus, which looks great but I had some problems with it. On some of the discs the episode you click on the menu is not the one it plays. |

We take Quality Control very serious here at Joker Inc. All our sets go through strict testing before they are released to the general pulic. There is no error with the Smart Guy set - I verified it again today. All episode titles link up to the correct episode on EVERY disc. |

They are talking about titles not linking up to the right episode - this has nothing to do with corrupt discs.
