Only 2 years too late. I didnt really like the first season as much as the 3rd and 4th. I hope it makes it that far.

I know. That's the problem with releasing these much loved shows from the first season onward -- very few people really remember or would choose the first season as a favorite, and often after the first season of a series, small tweaks are made, such as the opening theme of Family Ties being changed, or big-time cast changes for Facts of Life after season 1.

So the episodes that people really love and remember fondly tend to be closer to the middle of the show's run...It's too bad they aren't releasing the 1st and 2nd seasons together in one set. But I'll definitely take what I can get. :-)

I am looking forward to getting the DVD set for the first season. I really like the show during its first two seasons especially the first. But I heard many complained that Meredith Baxter Birney looked too young to play the mom of teenagers and she was still identified as Nancy Lawrence Maitland, the oldest daughter on Family, and they had to make her look a little older to come off as the mother and not someone's sister and/or daughter.

What special features would you all like to see? Personally some documentaries and commentaries would be nice for me, along with bloopers and vintage interviews, promos, etc. But we have to realize that we're talking about PHE, so most likely there won't be any special features included.

Oh, I'd love to get this. I don't suppose it will be released in Britain, will it? Even if it isn't, our computer can play Region 1s, so I'd be able to order it anyway.

I'm sure that when it comes out, places like Best Buy and Target will have it discounted the first week or so of its release, so I'll wait for that. $29.04 is an incredibly good deal though. Must excercise self control, I haven't very much money in the bank at the moment. Hmmm: To eat for the rest of the month?...or to get a great deal on Family Ties DVD? It's a really tough choice, truth be told. LOL

I thought ALL the seasons were great and I am big fan of Michael J. Fox and support him all the way with embryonic stem cell research! And no I'm not a girl! LOL!

I'm getting the first season as soon as it come out and all the others too!

Haven't they gotten the cast together as an extra for the DVD and what other features will be on it?

I haven't seen any commericals promoting the dvd release next week of Family Ties. Has anyone seen commericals? How do they expect it to sell well if they don't advertize it?
