Emily and Richard are awesome characters. Without them the show wouldn't be the same.

I agree with MsOrange. The show wouldn't be the same without the two of them. Emily is my favorite Character, behind Lorelai and Paris. We'll be seeing more of them as the year goes on. Right now they seem to be focusing alot on the Luke/Lorelai/Christopher and Rory/Logan relationships. There's been points throughout the series when Richard and Emily are gone for a few episodes. I think they'll be back soon.

Yes, it's true that the show wouldn't really be the same without them. Richard's all right, but I wish they would have Emily loosen up. She's just as formal, stuffy, snobby, & uptight as she was since day one of the show.

I don't like how many times they show how Lorelai still needs "permission" to do things from her parents even though she's a grown woman.

And I've been sick of those Friday night dinners at the house. The producers should start having the parents, Lorelai, & Rory see each other under a more variety of circumstances or events.

yeah i agree with you all but it was the whole "agreement" but i think it does sucks that Lor has to ask her parents for some money and i knew,i just knew there was going to be some kind of a string attached to it! but anyway on some bright side it is good to have them get to know Rory and for Rory to get to know them but as i keep on watching gilmore girls i'm just so glad that i don't have parents like them!
