Did anyone else find it strange that Blair just got her ears pierced in this episode, at the age of 16? It seems like she was wearing earrings before this, but I guess they could have been clip-ons. Is this how girls got their ears pierced back then?I know Full House had an episode about Stephanie getting hers done at like 13, but still that's kind of late. I know I had mine pierced when I was like 3, that's why I find it so strange.

I did think it was sort of strange that they were all acting like getting their ears pierced was some big weird thing. Not just Blair, but all of them.

My mother personally made me wait until 13, but the girls were all quite a bit older than that by that point. And yes, you would imagine someone as sophisticated as Blair would have had her ears pierced long before.

The same thought occurred to me as well. Blair certainly would have had her ears pierced long before high school! It just seems in keeping with her character and more importantly, her mom: Fashionable Blair wearing "clip-on" earrings? Perish the thought!

I'm going to comment on this, even though I risk some female forum members thinking, "What could you possibly know?" But I think I'm correct, so here goes: The age that a girl gets her ears pierced is largely determined by her mom. Some moms have a girl's ears pierced as a toddler, others make their daughters wait as long as their teen years. Unless, of course, the girl has it done behind her mom's back, which is what I'd call the third and final timetable! Sound about right?

I think you're right, one's mother may have something to do with it. I got mine when I was five and I never even asked for it. I never asked my mom why she decided to get my ears pierced but I think it's good that I had no idea what was going on at the time because I don't remember any pain. My friend got her's when she was in high school and I still remember the look on her face while she was getting it.

As for Blair, I did think it was weird that she got them done so late and how all the other girls were making such a big deal out of it.

And, I find it funny how both Full House and FOL associated infections with ear piercing.

Funny thing with me was that my mom didn't even think to have my ears pierced... it was my DAD of all people. It wasn't until my early teens that I got my ears pierced. One day, out of the blue, my dad said "Let's go to the mall and get your ears pierced." and I was like "ok, sure..." To this day, it's one of those "cherished" moments I have of my dad... Sorry, to ramble... just remembering. :-D

Not one of their best in any event. Blair not having her ears pierced, even in the ';80's was a bit silly. Still to be fair mine were done by a friend when I was 17! So I guess its not too far-fetched. Though I was never as fashion savvy as Blair Warner.

I didn't get my ears pierce 'til a month before my 24th b'day. And what's more unusual about me, is I only have one hole in each earlobe and I don't have piercings anywhere else! I like it that way, though.

I did think it was a little strange, but maybe it wasn't so much that she wasn't allowed, but remember she said something like "Pain is now an old friend"? Maybe she was just too scared of the pain, or thought it would hurt more than what it actually would?

As for my piercing tale LOL I had mine pierced when I was seven, but they ended up getting infected, so mom and her friend Denise to get them re-pierced on my 11th b-day a very cool b-day surprise!

WHY IS THAT UNUSUAL? ME TOO? UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY MEAN IT'S UNUAL FOR YOU BECUZ YOUR HAVE A BOATLOAD OF TATTOOS OR SOMETHING

BECUZ MINE TENDED TO GET INFECTED, I STOPPED WEARING EARINGS, SO MANY TIMES THE HOLES WOULD CLOSE UP. I THINK I COULD ONLY WEAR REAL SILVER OR GOLD. THE LAST TIME I WAS PUTTING EARINGS IN, I HAD NO REAL PROBLEM WITH MY RIGHT, BUT WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR THE LEFT, I WAS WONDERING WHY IT WASN'T GOING THRU AS EASILY, AND IT WAS A LITTLE PAINFUL. WHEN I GOT HOME AND TOOK IT OUT, I REALIZED I JUST MADE A NEW HOLE IN MY EAR, BECUZ I NOTICED THE OLD MARK NEXT TO IT. WHAT A DUNDERHEAD. I HAD TO LAUGH ABOUT IT THOUGH. ONLY ME

I got mine pierced when I was four. I then got second holes in my ears when I was maybe....12. But I quickly closed them, I didn't like them. So I just use my first holes.

I remember this girl in my grade 9 math class had an infection after getting like the fourth whole in her ears and the whole class was so disgusted because we can smell the infection. It was NASTY. Even the teacher was disgusted.
