Question Have you kept/do you keep a diary?

Before the days of MySpace, people used to actually write down their private thoughts, lol. I kept a diary from the age of 14 until 20. It's fun, and a little sad, to read it today.

Yes, I've been keeping a journal in some shape or form since I was 9 (1994). It's interesting to see how my handwriting has evolved over the years. The current one I have, I've been writing in it since November 2002... in October 2003, I went the LiveJournal route and haven't written much in it since then. Plus, I don't really like the actual journal itself. I like my journals to have thick, stiff pages with semi-wide lines (not college-ruled) so that I can use whatever pen I have on hand, instead of ballpoint pens... these make my hand hurt if I have to write with them for a long time. I have maybe 55-60 pages (out of 198 pages) left in the current journal, so I should get crackin' on that. I do take a notebook or whatever with me on my travels so I can write about what happened. I did that in London, Washington DC, New York City...

For a good while when I was 12/13, I had a Word document journal... I had a lot of stuff typed up on there, and my mom deleted it permanently by accident when I was about 13. OMG...I was sooooooooooo upset. I have nothing from that time... Blah.

When I'm not blogging (which is almost never, because I blog every day, lol), I write in my paper journal.

Nope, Iv'e never had a diary. I do have a journal that I write in once in awhile, but I'm way too A.D.D. to focus on writing in a diary everyday.

When I got my very first computer I kept a journal for a while, but I never got much out of it. It was a pretty depressing read too.

I've kept a diary for a long time, and I still do, even though I have a LiveJournal too.

Yep! I've kept one since fifth grade. I have a total of thirteen filled and I'm writing in one right now. Journal-writing is definitely something I want to do for the rest of my life.

I don't use my Xanga or LiveJournal much anymore.

When I was 12 I got my first Diary and I wrote in one up until I was 16. And then one day my Mom took it upon herself to read it and she read some of the things that my boyfriend (now my husband) and I were doing. After that I stop writing in one, Until I started college and then I started back and now I write in my journal every night before I go to bed.

I've heard it's therapeutic, but have never had that substantiated. I haven't kept a journal, because I seldom stick with anything consistently, except for example being a member of SO, which I've stuck with for almost seven months already, and glad that I have!

Yes. I've been writing in it since 3rd grade and I'm 17 now. It's not a daily thing so I only have 1 and a half filled, but I get down what I need to get down.

I keep my thoughts in a small note pad, that is ideal for something like that. I also have a LiveJournal that I update semi-regularly. I like reflecting back on former moments.

I started keeping a journal when I was pregnant with my son. I have written in it every day since then. I start a new one every year on my sons birthday and finish it the day before.....It is something i plan to give him on his 18th birthday....

No. On LJ/MySpace, no one cares about my stupid life. On paper, I don't care. All I'd do is complain.
