nudist colonies on sitcoms? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Help! I am trying to figure out what show the following scene appeared in: a group of friends (male and female, young-ish) end up going to a nudist colony for some reason (they are clearly not comfortable with it). There are lots of scenes of their discomfort at seeing people playing tennis, etc. nude, but it ends with them going to dinner nude, only to find that everyone else there is wearing clothes. They end up wearing lobster bibs throughout dinner.

I thought this was 3's Company, but I can't find it in any of the episode guides. (There's an episode where Janet participates in a nude beach protest, but that's not it.) I'm pretty sure it was from the 1970s or very early 1980s.

One of my friends thought this was a Golden Girls episode. I'm pretty sure that's not what I'm remembering, but links to a similar GG episode would also be welcome.

You know that episode actually sounds familiar but I can't place the show.

There was indeed an episode of Golden Girls just like this. Your description until the part when they wear lobster bibs for dinner. In the GG episode, a Valentines Day episode from Season 4 (Feb. 1989), has a flashback where the girls unexpectedly stay at a "clothing optional" resort. They watch the people play tennis, and they start getting used to it after wanting to leave (they couldn't because there was no transportation back home). So, they decided to join in on the fun and go to dinner. They make it to the dining room, only to find out the guests dress for dinner, but it ends there. It's not the highlight of the episode, just a flashback. It was funny though.

A lot of that description sounds very familiar to a "Golden Girls" episode mentioned in the post above mine.

It's been a while since I've seen the episode, but there's an episode of the sitcom "Working" in which the characters go to a nudist colony. That's the show that starred Fred Savage. USA used to rerun it, but they don't anymore. I can't remember the plot of the whole episode, just that everybody was naked, lol.
