Default Favorite MTV Shows

Do people still watch MTV shows or is everyone kinda over them? I still HATE the real world and Laguna Beach is terrible but there are some good ones like this Little Talent show thing i saw the other day for the first time, just a bunch of shameless wannabees but they are funny

I mean this in all seriousness: should this thread be in "music?" MTV has become such a bastardization of its original self that it's no longer even recognizable as "music television." The channel is absolutely unwatchable. I haven't purposely watched the channel in about nine years. They're now a ****ty reality TV show channel for teens and 'tweens, with a few music videos sprinkled in at 5 am.

By the way, the fact that My Super Sweet 16 even exists makes me violently ill.

No, no MTV for me. At all. I am, however, a fan of "The Tube Music Network," which is carried in many areas as a free over-the-air digital TV station, and/or on digital cable. It's all videos, all the time.

Their slogan is "Think of it as music television... only with music."

i definitely know what you mean, MTV has gone to **** lately! however, i must admit that the little talent show is absolutely hilarious, it gets old after a while but every now and then the contestants are just out of their mind

I said it before and I will say it again, MTV in music category is like bald men in the shampoo section of the store.

Me too. I don't even watch MTV anymore, aside from the occasional 'True Life' documentary. I miss the days where it was mostly music.

When it comes to reality shows, VH1 is alot better.

I'm really into that rap school show.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From 1981 until 1996, MTV actually stood for music television. Blame Britney Spears and N*Sync for ruining a good channel.

Yes, i can't believe MTV, a station that once aired acts such as Tupac, grunge rock bands, and Prince's videos, would air such garabge like My Super Sweet 16. If my kid ever act like those brats when she turns 16, she won't live to see 17...

I actually had a sweet 16 party like those brats, the only difference is, I was grateful. And what is puzzling, that these so called rich kids aren't really rich, they are as middle class as the Keatons. The only 'rich' kid was Aaron Reid, L.A Reid's son. And whoever heard of BOYS having lavish sweet 16 parties? These kids are all insecure, that's what I realized watching this crap... Sophie, the so called heiress, and those triplets by many standards, aren't rich.. trust me.

BRAVO...BRAVO... I too had a party, but I had mine when I turned 15. I was thankful, grateful and I love my dad for giving me a day to remember. I didn't need a car for him to show me his love. I was even shocked when after all the money my father spent on this day for me, he still bought me a present, which was a pearl necklace.

I hate that little beeyotch that was adopted and she said she "deserved this car!" WTF???????? I am adopted, and being adopted doesn't grant you any more privileges or luxuries more than any other kid. Stupid beeyotches! Ungrateful, stupid, petty, cry babies.

Sadly, I grew up with kids like these, i'll admit at 13 I was acting like a brat until well... my mom passed away.

My father spent thousands of dollars on mine, not only did he shell out a lot of money, but provided entertainment and brought me a brand new off the showroom floor benz among other things, I kissed his ass for about almost a year!

The only MTV shows I like, are that Real World/Road Rules challenge, (or whatever the heck they're calling it now), and that show where parents get to choose dates for their kids, in hopes that they will dump the person that they're currently seeing. I'll also check out that show MADE from time to time, but only when I'm really bored.

I agree with AKA though. Most of what MTV plays these days are "reality shows," so the reality board is probably the better place to start a topic on MTV. I can't even remember the last time I heard music on that station.
